Jeff Ceccarelli - Class of 1972

On May 16, 1906, Silvio Ceccarelli came through Ellis Island, traveling on to Sparks to help build the railroads. One hundred years later, the great grandson of Silvio Ceccarelli, Mr. Jeff Ceccarelli, was inducted into the Sparks High Hall of Fame. Mr. Ceccarelli states that it’s not the critics who watch, but it’s the ones who get involved and play that count. Graduating in 1972, Mr. Jeff Ceccarelli said that most of his memorable experiences came in the halls of Sparks High. Here he was involved in numerous activities including: basketball, baseball, and student leadership, serving as Student Body President. He said that if he could change one thing about his high school experience, it would be that, “Sparks High would have won the basketball playoffs and not come in second.” At Sparks High, Jeff also met his future wife, Miss Teen Reno of 1972, Ronnie Bell. They have two daughters, Jessica and Angela.

Upon graduating from Sparks High, Jeff Ceccarelli attended the University of Nevada and worked at Sierra Pacific as an intern. During his junior year in college, he married his high school sweetheart, who has always supported him in everything he has done. Mr. Ceccarelli received his degree in engineering. Since 1972, Mr. Ceccarelli has been a faithful employee of Sierra Pacific, and in 2001, was named President of Sierra Pacific. He continues to work with many organizations in the community, including the UNR alumni association.
