Oscar Delgado ~ Class of 1999

Oscar Delgado attended Sparks high School for four years. He had a deep love for the Sparks High Community and grew from every experience he had in high school. He struggled throughout his youth in school, but always stayed positive and met every obstacle head on. His parents, Robert and Maria always kept an optimistic view on life, which greatly impacted Mr. Delgado. He became very involved at Sparks High School, playing basketball all four years, being a varsity athlete his junior and senior year, and being part of the Hispanic club his senior year. Mr. Delgado enjoys reminiscing about his favorite memories at Sparks High and the diversity that was brough about at Sparks. “One of my favorite memories was debating on hard topics in critics with Ms. Farias and I never experienced a closed door.”

Mr. Delgado never thought going to college was something he wanted to pursue until he got into high school. He attended Santa Ana Community College and Cal State, Fullerton, receiving a degree in 3AA Ethnics-Social Science Liberal Arts and a Geography Degree in Teaching. After college, he decided to stay in Santa Ana and work for their school district. “If you want it, you can do it”.
