Paul Arthur Tholl – Class of 1967

            Paul Arthur (Pat) Tholl was born September 11, 1949 in Reno, Nevada.  Pat grew up and attended schools in Sparks. While at Sparks High he made State first team AAA in basketball.  He earned player of the year in 1967.  He went on to play at the University of Nevada Reno and graduated in 1972.  He played in numerous softball and basketball leagues.  He also received numerous MVP awards while playing city league basketball.  Throughout Pat’s life his passion was basketball.  This includes playing and watching, but he was certainly at peace by being in an empty gymnasium shooting baskets for hours.

Most will associate Pat with Tholl Fence, Inc. and his determination and commitment to his company.  He worked at Tholl Fence, Inc. from 1965.  Pat will always be remembered for his many accomplishments in the community.  He was Past President of the Reno Sunrise Rotary, the Better Business Bureau and Northern Nevada Horseshoe Pitchers Association.  He was involved in many other organizations.  Pat received an honorable discharge from the Nevada Air National Guard.  Pat will also be remembered for his never ending devotion to youth athletics.  Pat coached YBA, middle school basketball and baseball for Reno Continental Little League Baseball.

            Pat unexpectedly passed away, Wednesday November 30th at Washoe Medical Center.  Pat was a kind, honorable, gentle giants, a man who always put everyone else’s needs before his own.
