Anthony “Tony” Tuffo ~ Class of 1961

    Anthony “Tony” Tuffo graduated from Sparks High School in 1961. During his high school career, Tuffo was an honors student and a distinguished athlete. He was an avid track star and football player. He also served as Student Body President and Senior Vice President. After high school, Tuffo pursued higher education, and eventually ended up at the University of Notre Dame. He earned a degree in Engineering Science. He graduated second in his class and continued on to earn two Masters Degrees from Stanford University. After University, Anthony Tuffo began working for Lockheed Martin Space Systems in 1965. Tuffo dedicated forty-five years and was promoted to General Manager, and then president. He decided to retire in 2001.

            In retirement, he used his math skills to begin a wine business, with his wife Jane, in Arroyo Grande, California. Anthony Tuffo loved and valued his family. He has two daughters, a son, and three grandchildren. Tuffo enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with his family. Unfortunately, Anthony Tuffo died on September 25, 2008.
