Peter Christopher Simeoni ~ Class of 1979
Peter Christopher Simeoni was born on February 20, 1961, in Eugene, Oregon. Most of his early childhood was spent moving to various cities across the country. He settled for a while in Santa Monica, California attending John Adams Junior High School before moving to Sparks, Nevada in 1975. He attended Sparks High bringing along his love and passion for basketball and learning. He struggled in school, but with his wit, determination, and desire to learn, he found success. He played on the Sparks High School Varsity basketball team all four years earning numerous basketball awards such as the Northern Nevada Player of the Year 1978/79. He also earned the High School All American Award.
He continued to play basketball as a freshman at Gavilan College but stopped after his first year to move back and focus on earning a degree in English at the University of Nevada, Reno. He taught English at Sparks High School and coaches the boys’ varsity basketball team for many years. He got married to Julie Caspary. Peter and Julie both moved to Spokane, WA where he attended Gonzaga Law School in 1995, graduating in 1998. He was then employed at the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office. He will always be remembered for his never-ending determination to educate himself and his strive to be the best man, husband, and father. Peter Christopher Simeoni passed away on July 6, 2014.
